The Last Day in February

The rain from yesterday has combined with dropping temperatures in the form of snow outside my window. Its magical. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Although I will admit it is a little strange to see the snow falling on the millions of daffodils that are already blooming. And next week it's supposed to get up into the 80's... only in Arkansas.

We had lunch with the family at Jason's and then I watched Made of Honor and did laundry. Now that Andrew has done to work, I think I'll bundle up with Tillie and some hot cocoa and enjoy a night in. I hope everyone finds ways to stay warm tonight!

A Day At Oaklawn

Today was the KKYK race at Oaklawn so we got to go and present the trophy to the winner and get our picture taken. I had never been before but I really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun. Our box is right over the entrance to the paddock and we get to go down to the sidelines to watch our race like the people in the photo are doing. I also made the first bet I've ever made in my life but I lost. I guess that's what I get for betting.

Andrew has friends in from out of town this weekend so I will be hanging out at my parents' house a lot and doing girly stuff. and most definitely catching up on my sleep. I need to recharge from this week.

National Pistachio Day

Today is National Pistachio Day. If you like them, enjoy a few in celebration.

Today was also my first day back at work. It was alright but I am so tired tonight. It took a lot out of me but at least I am feeling better.

Tonight Kat and I went and checked out the Yoga Fitness Center. We are going to take a class there Monday and see how we like it. Also, we are planning a crafternoon session for some time before then to make bags for our yoga mats.

The bowl I painted for Tillie was finally ready for me to pick up. And Rim, I also picked up the mug you painted. Yep, it was ready the day you left.

Kat has started posting on her livejournal again and I am so happy. I'm glad I could provide some sort of inspiration to you, Thurm. Everyone should check out her blog here.

Good news at work today: my role has changed quite a lot and now I am able to do more of the stuff I studied in college -- the stuff I really enjoy. I am thrilled.

So, I don't know if anyone has noticed, but whenever Andrew posts, it is hilarious. I am going to make him do it more often. It gives me a break and lets him get his creative juices flowing.

Now I'm off to watch 30 Rock and eat the red velvet cupcake I got at Cupcakes on Cavenaugh. Then I'll probably turn in. I'm beat.

A Little Better

I'm feeling a little better today and I am planning on returning to work tomorrow, armed with my arsenal, of course. I actually managed to hold down a carrot today, which considering how I have been feeling, is a huge accomplishment.

I am really digging this website lately: You Are My Fave -- it is brilliant and hilarious at the same time. Check it out.

We're all still really bummed that Lauren is gone. I guess it just hasn't really hit me yet.
Rim, I miss you. We all miss you. Hope you're having a blast. Can't wait to hear from you.

No Sunlight

Today Meghan was not feeling well again. She was actually sent home from work which surprised me. She seems to have contracted some variation of the flu and it was pretty bad. However, I now have her equipped with a hip flask of Emetrol, the rainbow of healing goodness, and I am confident that things will be on the up and up... not up and up like up chuck... that is to say up as in better... not like cookies or projectile... well anyway Emetrol = Good.

Here, look at something cute!...I mean cool. *ahem*

Rim's Last Night In Town

"cause everyone knows now that every night now will be Reemus's last night in town."

Tonight we celebrated -- and for some of us, mourned -- Rim's last night in town before flying away from us to be in Korea for an entire year. I can't even think about it really without crying. I just have to pretend that it will only be a week or so before I see her face again. It breaks my heart. Over the past few weeks, not to mention the past few years, Rim and I have grown so close that I can't imagine her not being there to talk out my thoughts with.

And so Rim, if you're reading this, we LOVE you and we miss you already. Please call/email as soon as you arrive so we know you made it safely. Have fun love and be careful.

P.S. Andrew loves Tillie. A lot.

Driving Slow on Sunday Morning

I slept an incredible amount this morning and didn't wake up until noon. But I guess my body really needed it after the ordeal it went through yesterday, so I'm not complaining. Plus, I was just glad for my head to not be hurting for once.

We took Tillie to meet my sister's dog, Bullet, today. They got along alright but I don't think Tillie really cared for him very much. Then we got Andrew a new tie for work and some baseball ringer tees because they are his favorite.

Now we are making breakfast for dinner and settling down with a good movie. I love Sundays because they are nice and slow, just like in the Maroon 5 song.

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you're celebrating the fact that today is National Be Humble Day.
