St. Louis and back

We're back from a week long stay in St. Louis (our city of choice). It was fun. But we're glad to be home. I'm happy to get back into my routine of cuddling with Tillie. We missed her.

Here are a few pictures from our trip:

And now that we're home, I've made a list of projects to keep me busy until the Walkers' arrival:
1. Make a new cover for my heating pad
2. Pick out fabric to recover the slipper chair in my room
3. Learn how to upholster furniture
4. Clean/organize closet
5. Fashion something to store headbands on
6. CLEAN. EXTENSIVELY.

Meet me in St. Louis!

We went to the main library downtown tonight after work. Tyler and mom went with us. I helped Tyler pick out a bunch of books including this one -- my favorite as a kid. We also picked out this one for my mom to read to him -- one she read many times to us growing up. I got two books: "Those Who Save Us" by Jenna Blum and "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss. Both seem pretty interesting.

After dinner (chicken breasts, broccoli, boiled eggs, and milk) I got a super headache and my plans to work out got put on the back burner. Andrew was sweet to me though and made me tea and put on Meet Me in St. Louis, my very favorite not feeling well movie. Fingers crossed that the next time I watch it, I'll be in St. Louis. Wouldn't that be nice.

Family Dinner

Andrew worked at Yia-Yia's this morning but this evening we hung out at my parents' for family dinner. Mom made roast, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, and homemade fresh bread. It was delicious. We also got to spend a little time playing Lego Star Wars with Tyler, watching Planet Earth on Discovery, and playing with some of Tyler's toys, including his huge hulk hands. They make noise when you hit things with them and are super fun to play with.

So, Katherine has been in St. Louis all weekend for a hair show and I have to admit I am completely jealous. I love that city and I really want to move there. I think I've had a really hard time with the thought of moving away from my family, especially with everything that's happened, but more and more everyday, I really just want to move away and start something new. And I would love nothing more than to do it there.

Rim, if you're reading this, it has been FOREVER since we've talked. I miss you. Please let's catch up soon.

Groundhog Day

Happy Groundhog Day! Now, I know they are saying that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and that there will be six more weeks of winter, but I just checked the weather report for this next ten days and it's going to be 69 degrees this weekend so I'm thinking he might be wrong. I mean, maybe he was just still so excited about the Steelers' win last night that he really couldn't concentrate.

I didn't go to work this morning because I woke up with a killer migraine. So I pumped my body full of medicine and slept all afternoon. And then Andrew and I scored these Cardinals caps. We are still keeping the dream of moving to St. Louis alive.

And now we're settling in for a nice night of margaritas, WOW, and our favorite TV shows.

Bath Day

Saturday = Bath Day. Needless to say, Tillie was not pleased about it. But she is getting better. She didn't fight nearly as hard as she usually does. Maybe she is starting to enjoy it or at least tolerate it.

We had drinks with our good friend Lauren tonight. I love spending time with that kid. We talked about moving to St. Louis, just the three of us. Oh, to dream.
