Adventures in Fayetteville
I'm not a huge fan of Fayetteville, AR. Let me just say that right now. Something about being the home of the Razorbacks just doesn't sit right with me. But nevertheless, here I am. We are having a District Court Probation Officers' meeting today and tomorrow.
Tonight we went to dinner at Qdoba (love it), hit up the Smoke and Barrel whiskey bar (I didn't have anything), and then swung by the association's hospitality suite where I enjoyed a nice cold Coca Cola. Yum.
The only things I have left on my agenda are to finish watching 30 Rock, eat the cookie on my nightstand, and pass out in this sleep number bed (my sleep number is 25, apparently).

Almost Christmas
[picture here]
The office is dead. No one is here. There's nothing to do. And time is passing so slowly. I've never been more ready to go home.
I've been trying to convince Andrew to let me open my Christmas presents early. Every day I come home and there's more. And they are huge. We're talking too big to fit under our tree huge. And I can't even remember what I asked for that could possibly be that big. And that's got me excited because presents that I didn't think to ask for are usually my fave.
I'm thinking I may have a half day tomorrow. Or maybe not go in at all. Still debating. I've still got cookies to bake. And blankets to snuggle up in.
Today is my dad's birthday! Happy Birthday Diddy! Before I head home for his bash, check out my favorite names of towns in Arkansas (found during during work this morning):
- Bald Knob
- Blue Ball
- Delight
- Friendship
- Jerusalem
- Locust Bayou
- Macedonia
- Pencil Sims Bluff
- Smackover
- Stamps
- Sweet Home
- Swan Lake
P.S. Kristin is back! 3/4 Order Christmas party tomorrow night!

My West Memphis Adventure
So, I'm here in West Memphis, staying overnight by myself in a hotel because we have a conference bright and early tomorrow morning. And at first, I was worried I would be lonely or not know what to do by myself, but its turning out to be pretty awesome.
I ordered pizza and french fries from room service and am sitting in bed eating and watching Mean Girls on TV. And here is what I've got lined up for the rest of my evening:
A new episode of 30 Rock
Video chatting with Andrew and Tillie
Eating golden Oreos in bed
A sleeping pill and bedtime and at alarmingly early hour
Not bad for a Thursday night, huh?

Happy Birthday Pootie!
Today is my mom's birthday! We sent her some beautiful tulips and a really funny card this afternoon followed by a copy of one of her favorite childhood books (Gone with the Wind), a necklace, and dinner at Mimi's. Oh and I also made her a homemade chocolate cake. Andrew helped with the frosting. It was delicious, of course.
Today is also the anniversary of me getting a big girl job. It feels good to have a year of experience under my belt. I am excited to see where my future career endeavors lead me.
Lauren, I miss thee. Plain and simple.

Just another day

Andrew has been so hard at work lately preparing for his new job and going to school. He's got a lot on his plate right now but I am so proud of him.
Looking into vacation spots lately and getting very excited about the possibilities that are open to us this summer. Maybe its all the ice and cold weather, but I am desperately seeking someplace warm.
I am also dreaming about this little gadget.

All work and some play

The roads were covered in ice this morning so I spent the day working from home. It was a nice break and I feel like I got a lot accomplished. There is supposed to be more severe winter weather coming our way tonight.
I'm really digging the City Sage's Blogger Book Love series right now. She has different writers/designers/bloggers post about their favorite reads. The ones I have added to my must read list are:
Marjorie Morningstar by Herman Wouk
Moonfleet by J. Meade Falkner
No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander Smith
Eyewitness Auschwitz by Filip Muller
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
Check these out and more on this website.
