Beach Trip Recap:
As promised, here are the photos from our week in Gulf Shores. So, on this Monday morning, grab a drink that you can pretend is somewhat tropical (orange juice, coconut water), prop your feet up at your desk, and live vicariously through these images:

Good Morning, Monday:
We're back from the beach! It was crazy relaxing, fun, and relaxing -- everything a beach vacation should be. I've got some great photos to share but I'm in St. Louis the first part of this week for work, so I probably won't get around to posting them until later this week. But in the meantime, here's a sneak peak:

Beach Week:
![]() |
We're spending the week at the beach on a much needed vacation. Here's what we'll most likely be up to this week:
- Enjoying the sunrise during morning runs on the beach
- Taking naps under giant hats
- Eating plenty of fresh fruit (preferably in a hammock)
- Catching up on our reading under an umbrella
- Jamming to some summer tunes poolside
- Doing a little retail therapy with the girls
- Slurping back countless smoothies
- Drinking Mexican Coke while burying our feet in the sand
- Enjoying mixed drinks while in the company of friends
- Eating all my meals outside (my favorite)
- Trying new restaurants every night
- Jaunting through the waves
- Laughing. A lot.
Have a great week. We'll be back here on Monday with all the details from our trip!

Resolution 2011: Beach Vacation
The weather was in the 70's today. And while out enjoying it (before the storm sets in), I realized that I am in desperate need of some kind of beachy vacation this summer. I don't think I've been to the beach since the summer before I graduated from college.
I need a little of this:
And a little of this:
Thanks, LB, for keeping those pictures around to make me smile.

Our Boston Mountains Vacation
We just got back from our stay in a yurt. That's right. Yurt. We were supposed to stay through tomorrow but we came home a day early. And if any of you were wondering, here is what a yurt vacation looks like:
Take a look at our camping Facebook album for more pictures from our stay.
I'm leaving soon to go welcome the long lost Walker twin/Order member back to the United States at the airport and I can't stop smiling. 1.5 years really is too long.

Our bags are packed, we're ready to go
Our bags are finally packed. We are ready to go. We still have tomorrow to get through. But emotionally, we are checked out. We are already on vacation. Good luck getting anything out of us. Productivity is not in our vocabulary anymore. Not until July, anyway.
We are finishing cleaning and then we are going to bed. Tomorrow will probably be one of the longest days of our lives.

"I'll make him an offer he can't refuse"
Okay, so I just had to share this hilarious story with everyone. Tillie has a stuffed moose that she loves to play with. Well, I guess she was playing a little too hard the other night because we woke up to the moose's head in our bed. I kid you not, it was just like the Godfather. And isn't Andrew's face classic?
We went back to the rents' tonight to mud and sand but the dust from the sanding got so bad that it was hard to breathe so we had ice cream and left. Thank goodness there isn't much more of that to do.
In less than 1 week we will be on our way to Ireland. Words cannot express how excited we are. I am already in vacation mode.

New shoes
"Hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right. I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling, it's so inviting."
Got 2 new pairs of shoes today on my lunch break. I'm always excited to get new shoes. They put me in a good mood.
Shawn Johnson rocked it out on DWTS tonight. I hope she wins. And I'm not going to lie, I wasn't crazy about Melissa's performance. Sad.
In exactly one month, we will be on vacation. I've been looking forward to this for months. I can't believe it's only a month away.

Just another day

Andrew has been so hard at work lately preparing for his new job and going to school. He's got a lot on his plate right now but I am so proud of him.
Looking into vacation spots lately and getting very excited about the possibilities that are open to us this summer. Maybe its all the ice and cold weather, but I am desperately seeking someplace warm.
I am also dreaming about this little gadget.
