As promised:

Friday night, I spent the evening in front of the TV. There were shows to watch, quilts to snuggle, long work weeks to unwind from, and thanks to my dear Rimmy (currently residing on a Buddhist mountain in S. Korea), a very tasty snack to eat. The Crunky bar may seem like an ordinary Asian chocolate bar, but in reality it is so much more. An inside joke of sorts, the bar originally intended for me was eaten before it ever made its stateside journey. This one came via the Walker/Order care package and I had to exercise great self-restraint to refrain from eating it until this moment. But it was good. A lot like a Crunch bar if anyone's wondering. P.S. How rad are my glasses?

Can I just brag on Andrew for a minute? Because I am completely proud of him. I signed him up as part of a relay team for the Little Rock Marathon with me and some coworkers and then promptly bailed, leaving him to run it alone. Not only that, he ended up running the longest leg (7.8 miles) with only about 2 weeks to train. I know, I'm terrible. But he did so fantastic, finishing in 1 hour and 5 minutes. And it was in freezing temperatures due to the storm two nights before and the cold front that came with it. So if you get a chance, drop him a line and let him know what a rock star he is.

And then after the marathon (and a celebratory late lunch at Layla's -- our favorite), we made these homemade Oreo's for dessert. And they are amazing. So amazing that someone commented on them today in the break room at work. Yea, we made them. From scratch. We don't eat any of that processed stuff around here.

Super Bowl weekend

I had a half day Friday because of snow (technically less than a half day because I left @ 9:00a) so I spent the afternoon in warm pajamas, watching musicals, and working on my tshirt quilt. It's taken so long because I can only really work on it on the weekends. But I'm almost done -- pictures coming soon.

Saturday Andrew and I finally took down our Christmas tree (don't judge) and after clearing it all away, we realized we had absolutely nothing to fill the now bare space. So we decided to make a built in desk and after a trip to Lowe's, we were rolling. Just a few cuts, some sanding, and painting was all it took. It was still technically "drying" all day yesterday (it took more than one coat of paint) so we haven't had a chance to install it yet. But maybe when I get home, Andrew will have surprised me by setting it up. I have major plans for this space so stay tuned.

Yesterday we hung out at our friend Schuck's house for some Super Bowl partying and general fun. We played Kinect, ate way too much, enjoyed a good game of football, and watched the new episode of Glee. I love to watch the winning team's victory but for some reason, I always get really sad for the losing team.

Which ads were your favorites? This was one of mine:

P.S. I found some cookies at the grocery store that taste exactly like Girl Scout Samoas. And I am in trouble because I cannot stop eating them.

Homemade Oreos

After 30 Rock tonight (glorious, btw) we made homemade Oreos using this recipe. Now, normally I'm not a fan of Oreos because the cookie part always seems so bitter. But these are actually really good. Andrew thinks they're better than the real deal (and healthier too) and he is a Oreo aficionado so that's really saying something.

P.S. Anthropologie is opening tomorrow at the Promenade! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am. I've only been looking forward to this day since I saw the "coming soon" sign this past summer. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be there.

friday night is good for cruising the internet in your pajamas

I can't believe this new trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been out for two months already and I missed it. Doesn't it look fantastic? I can't wait.

Also, I'm dying for these bensimon shoes since last summer:

I'm thinking I should just suck it up and get them.

I think I'll make these delicious pieces of heaven this weekend.

P.S. I may have applied for a job with the secret service today.

Order of the 4 Live!

Tonight was date night with Krit, Kat, and Rim. Rim was having technical difficulties and we didn't get to see much of her. But we did get to spend a long while chatting with Kristin. We even got to jam out to some old school Destiny's Child together. And don't worry, I have video. Rim, I'm sorry our fun was short lived, but we'll just have to try it again when you move into your new place and get internet and a microphone.

Andrew went with Hippo tonight to see the new Star Trek movie. And to quote him directly, it was "perfect".

I also made some homemade chocolate chip cookies from my mother's recipe tonight. They were delicious.

I'm so glad it's finally the weekend. Let the slacking off begin.
