I snagged this cute pair of Bensimon Ladies' Parisian Tennis Lacet the other day from Ideeli, yet another members-only shopping site that I frequent -- here's your invite (you're welcome). They should be arriving Saturday, around the same time as one half of my favorite set of twins comes to town. 

I've been living and breathing fashion more than usual lately. I've been constantly browsing fashion sites, doing some dream internet shopping (on my own time), and playing dress up in my closet nightly. I've got some posts planned for the next few days that may or may not include the bags I am currently loving and a nerdy little fashion planner that I created.

I never wanted this blog to be a fashion blog. There are already so many of those around, all cooler than I could ever be (see some of my faves here, here, and here). This was always supposed to be an outlet for creativity and expression -- a way to let everyone get a peek into our little hermit world. Yes, granted our (my) world has been infused with shoes, bags, and clothing as of late, but I'm working on bringing back a little more of our "real lives". And we're making plans (pretty exciting plans) for ways to put a fresh new spin on things. So get ready to check that out.

I've been after them for about a month now so I feel no remorse at making them mine. They're on backorder until April 19th though. So they should arrive just as I've forgotten about them. What a great surprise. And I love surprises that involve new shoes.

Closet wish list

This is a short week for me. I have tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday off from work for New Year's. And I plan to make the most of it. Tomorrow I plan to spend a good chunck of the day in my closet, playing dress up, trying stuff on, listening to good music, and purging. I used to be afraid to get rid of anything in my closet because I worried that the minute I would get rid of something would be the minute I desperately wanted to wear it. And so far, that has never happened. Besides, by getting rid of things, I am making room. And that means I get to go shopping. I'm on a mission to create a working closet -- one that is filled with fewer, quality, coordinating basics. And a few special surprises too. That way I can jump in there every morning and easily pick out an outfit without spending too much time or stressing out over it. The closet revamp begins now. And here are some things that I will be filling my closet with in the near future:

I have been wishing for these boots forever. But I can cross them off my list now because guess what is headed to my house this very afternoon? Happy Birthday to me.

I am having a moment with Piperlime. And partly because of this shirt. Would be so cute with a pair of cropped black pants or skinny jeans (both of which I already own) and booties.



Is there ever a time when I'm not thinking about J.Crew? It is my absolute fave and I want these wool minnie pants and grey matchstick cords from them so badly. And they're both on sale. Yes please.

I have been lusting over these cute heels from Urban Outfitters for a while now. I can't decide if I want them in the tomato red or the mustard yellow. I think yellow.

And finally, I am in desperate need of new black pumps (I still haven't replaced the ones I complained about in this post). And new booties. I need new lace up booties. I think these will do nicely.

Shoes!

I wore my black pumps to work yesterday. Mistake. I came home and shook them off my feet and across the room, swearing to never subject myself to them again. They are awful. Uncomfortable. A disaster. I have tried everything to make them bareable but it's no use. So I'm ridding myself of them.

The good news is that since I no longer have a pair of basic black pumps, I get to go shopping for new ones. I spent some time looking around online (thank you shopstyle) and what I came up with is interesting. Yes, there is a pair of black heels (with insanely cute soles) but more importantly there are two beautiful pairs -- one deep turquoise, one dark plum. Not black, I know, but so pretty and comfortable looking.

Fall 2010 shoes

Have been dealing with depression/sinus problems the past few days and haven't felt like doing much of anything.

But I'm back and I bring shoes with me. Just a few of the shoes I am wishing for this fall.

I can't believe this new trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been out for two months already and I missed it. Doesn't it look fantastic? I can't wait.



Also, I'm dying for these bensimon shoes since last summer:

I'm thinking I should just suck it up and get them.

I think I'll make these delicious pieces of heaven this weekend.

P.S. I may have applied for a job with the secret service today.

SHOES.

Love these shoes. Got them to go with the dress I got to wear for our friends' wedding in a few weeks. So cute. I should be getting the dress in the mail tomorrow. I'll let you know what it looks like then.

New Shoes

Today Andrew and I got new shoes. They are fun. And I don't know why some of my toenails are black in this picture -- I can assure you they are most definitely Tequila Sunrise.

Also, Kris Allen (the new American Idol) came into Yia-Yia's while Andrew was at work. People were going CRAZY. Just saying.

Some pretty good things that happened today:
Got a new shirt
Wrapped Andrew's birthday presents
Had 2 Sonic drinks
Helped hang more drywall

New shoes

"Hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right. I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling, it's so inviting."

Got 2 new pairs of shoes today on my lunch break. I'm always excited to get new shoes. They put me in a good mood.

Shawn Johnson rocked it out on DWTS tonight. I hope she wins. And I'm not going to lie, I wasn't crazy about Melissa's performance. Sad.

In exactly one month, we will be on vacation. I've been looking forward to this for months. I can't believe it's only a month away.
