Happy Friday!
We are celebrating tonight and all weekend long, not just because it's Halloween, but because...
I GOT A JOB!
So go out and do something fun to celebrate with us! And wish me luck. I start on Monday.
P.S. Old Navy has their peacoats on sale right now. This peacoat is only $29. Perhaps I will get it for myself as a "congratulations on the job" present.

Hello again
Been away for a while. Here is what we've been up to:
Pomegranates are in season! We've been eating them all over the place. Last night we topped vanilla ice cream with a few seeds and it was heaven.
We are headed to Sikeston for the weekend and, of course, I've been planning my packing list for the past week. Here is what I have so far:
We went up to Kat's salon today and got our hair done. Andrew got a haircut. I got some red in my hair. Its fun.
A few months ago, I did a puzzle that was incredibly hard. But it was missing a piece. And then a few days ago, I found the missing piece in a box. And now I have to work that puzzle all over again. My OCD will not let me let it go. I have to see it complete.

Let the choir sing

Just a few thoughts before the weekend:- Did you watch the live episode of 30 Rock last night? Shame on you if you didn't. It was fabulous -- the perfect blend of 30 Rock and SNL. See both the east coast and west coast broadcasts here.
- Bought some grey booties but am having trouble deciding what to wear them with. Any ideas?
- The latest installment of the CD Exchange Club went out this week. Hope you dig the newest Weepies album, L. I am in love with it.
- Sometimes I like to listen to old Blink-182 albums on repeat and relive my teenage angst years. But then it makes me sad when I think about how they sold out just like all the other great bands of the 90s (read: Green Day).
- My "to read" book list has over 150 books on it. I need to get on it.
- These pants from Gap are so cute.
- The 2010 World Gymnastics competition starts Sunday. NBC airs their coverage the 23rd and 24th. The women's team is looking solid. Except Chelsea Davis dislocated her knee cap this morning during a tumbling pass and will be sitting out for most of the competition, if not all. But the six remaining team members are incredible. They'll be great.

Oh, the dentist.
Went to the dentist today. Haven't been in a while. Thought I had a cavity but I didn't. Not really. So, that's good at least.
Have decided to cut down on/cut out all dark liquids and as much sugar as possible to continue to keep those cavities at bay. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to be able to fuction without diet coke or tea but I'll figure it out.

Happy Anthropologie Day!
Anthropologie is officially open in LR! Kat and I had plans to hit it up this evening but never actually made it over to the west side. We are going tomorrow afternoon though. And having a mini shopping spree.
Here are some of my very favorite things from Anthropologie this season:
Now if we could just get a J.Crew (and Madewell) I'd be in heaven.

Homemade Oreos
After 30 Rock tonight (glorious, btw) we made homemade Oreos using this recipe. Now, normally I'm not a fan of Oreos because the cookie part always seems so bitter. But these are actually really good. Andrew thinks they're better than the real deal (and healthier too) and he is a Oreo aficionado so that's really saying something.
P.S. Anthropologie is opening tomorrow at the Promenade! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am. I've only been looking forward to this day since I saw the "coming soon" sign this past summer. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be there.

Fall 2010 shoes
Have been dealing with depression/sinus problems the past few days and haven't felt like doing much of anything.
But I'm back and I bring shoes with me. Just a few of the shoes I am wishing for this fall.

Bark in the Park
We went to the NLR Bark in the Park this afternoon. And Tilllie got microchipped for free. Check it out here.
And then we went to PetSmart where Tillie got some awesome new dog food and tons of treats.
She had a pretty huge day.
In other news, the Harry Potter marathon continued with Lego Harry Potter Year 2 followed by Apples to Apples with the family and chi tea lattes.

Happy October!
To celebrate the beginning of my favorite Autumn month, we made these chocolate and pumpkin whoopie pies this afternoon:
And since my nephew and I are in the middle of a Harry Potter movie and Lego game marathon, we sat down to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets this evening. He has a magic wand and we sit around making up spells and talking about how we're going to go to the theme park together. It is ridiculously nerdy, incredibly cute, and the perfect way to ring in the month of Halloween.
P.S. This ring is adorable -- I want it!
I also want this fashion coloring book.
