Happy weekend:

Happy Friday, everyone!

Doing anything fun this weekend? We are insanely busy! Our schedule includes: packing, collecting paint samples and supplies, working on nursery projects, even more packing, and cookie eating.

And here's a look into our lives lately:

  1. Did you hear? WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
  2. Went to Hot Springs for work this week and got to stuff my face at Rolando's (the guacatostadas are my fave).
  3. My lower back has really been killing me this week. Did you know that a tennis ball is the secret to the best back massage you've ever had?
  4. We've been living and breathing home projects all week! So many amazing things! Can't wait to share them with you!
  5. Caprese paninis have been my jam lately -- can't seem to stop eating them!
The Little Rock Marathon is happening this weekend. Good luck to all my running buddies! Wish I could be out there with you!

Have a great one, friends!

Guess what?:

My brain is already swimming with projects. I've made lists on lists on lists. You should probably go ahead and prepare yourself for the onslaught of home improvement coming your way. It's going to be magical.

Happy weekend:

Happy Friday, friends! What are you doing this weekend? Anything fun? This weekend is one of the first in a while that we don't have anything going on so I plan on just taking it easy around the house. We'll be tuning in to the closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games (does anyone else get that slightly depressed feeling when the Olympics end?) And we can finally catch up on Downton Abbey! Other non-television related plans include packing a few boxes and baking cookies. It's shaping up to be a pretty enjoyable weekend.

Have a great one! Hope it's relaxing and that you get to take advantage of the wonderful Spring-like weather we've been having lately! XO.

New faves:

Warning: this post contains a lot of information about food, okay? Because this is real life and around here, our lives pretty much revolve around what we're going to eat next.

Here's a breakdown of what I pretty much can't live without these days:

  1. Root beer floats -- these are pretty much a staple in my diet these days. But we spring for the expensive ice cream, so that makes it okay, right?
  2. The Honest Co. Belly Balm -- this stuff is magic. Made from all organic ingredients, it smells nice, goes on smoothly, and makes my skin feel all, well, balmy. A little goes a long way so one jar lasts a long time.
  3. Thin Mint cookies -- I've been eating these every night while watching the Winter Olympics. The Girl Scouts haven't delivered any to my doorstep yet so I've been eating the knock-off ones from the grocery store. I'm not too good. And let me tell you, they taste exactly the same.
  4. Rosehip Seed Oil -- I recently switched up my skin care routine (see here) and this has been a major staple for me ever since. I love it as an all-natural moisturizer. It keeps my skin feeling nice and since I switched, I've had fewer breakouts (!!!)
  5. Snoogle Mini Compact Side Sleeper -- I love this pillow! I sleep much better with it and don't roll onto my back nearly as much as I used to. It has also greatly improved my back/hip pain. I am a much happier person with this pillow in my life.
  6. Chobani Greek yogurt -- I love the blueberry fruit on the bottom variety. I eat it for snack every afternoon and feel good because it's super delicious, is a good source of protein, and I can pronounce/recognize every ingredient.
  7. Weleda Skin Food -- have you tried this stuff? Total game changer. My skin is really dry but this winter, with all of the frigid temperatures, it has been exceptionally so. I keep a tube of this stuff in my desk at work and by the bed and apply it multiple times throughout the day and my skin is so much happier. It's a little on the expensive side but a little goes a long way. Did I mention it smells amazing? Go out and get yourself some now!
  8. Flats -- all of my heels have been benched for the past few months and I have been surviving on flats alone. They make my feet feel so much better at the end of the day. And right now, comfort trumps just about everything else.

New music:

Is it Wednesday already? Despite working over the holiday on Monday when I could have (and probably should have) been home in bed, this week is flying by. February is pretty much just a blur for me. I need time to slow down a little. I have so much to get done!

To help me keep calm, I've been jamming to some first rate tunes lately. They are helping me keep my focus on one thing long enough to actually accomplish the things on my ever-growing to-do list. And these days, it seems I need all the help I can get.

Have a listen:

Happy weekend:

Happy Friday, friends. I cannot express just how glad I am to see this week finished. Surviving it has proved to be a real test of character for me. But here we are at the week's end and we're all still standing. So, well done me.

What are you doing this weekend? Anything fun? We are doing some house hunting and watching the Olympics. I have been in the mood to do some baking, so that will probably happen at some point as well.

Here's a little of what we've been up to lately:
  1. We've been looking at lots of houses lately. We've found a few that are on our "short list" so hopefully we will make a decision soon!
  2. We've been glued to the television during the Olympics. I had forgotten how sleep deprived I get from staying up late to catch all the action. It's two weeks of rough mornings.
  3. I had an out-of-town meeting this week. A long car ride + sleeping in a strange hotel room alone is not a combination that makes me very happy. I'm just glad it's over.
  4. Root beer floats have been my best friends for the past couple of weeks. And cookies! I know they say you crave sweets if you're having a girl but this little babe is most definitely a boy with a major sweet tooth.
  5. We celebrated our dating anniversary this week! 9 years! Hard to believe we aren't sick of each other yet.
Have a great one, everyone. They say the weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend but I've been burnt by the weatherman as of recent so I'm not inclined to believe anything he says. We'll just have to wait and see.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! And happy anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Ugh:

Today is just one of those days. You know the ones. You're grumpy. You're tired. It's cold and grey outside. You were supposed to have a snow day today. You were counting on it. Instead, you're pried from your warm bed in the early morning hours and forced to function like a normal human being. Your back hurts. Your eyes hurt. Your sinuses hurt. You hate all the clothes in your closet and all you really want to do is eat cookies in bed. They're no good, these kind of days. The only thing you can do is hang on and hope the time passes quickly (which it undoubtedly will not). This is the kind of day I'm having. And really, the entire week is forecasted to be much of the same. It isn't looking good. So bare with me. Hopefully, I'll be able to pull myself out of this slump eventually.

Hope your day/week/month is better than mine. Come on, spring! I don't think I can take this much longer.

We love:

A little something to make you smile on this bitterly cold Monday morning.

Andrew shared this video last week and I can't stop laughing. We literally quoted it all weekend.
