New Shoes

Today Andrew and I got new shoes. They are fun. And I don't know why some of my toenails are black in this picture -- I can assure you they are most definitely Tequila Sunrise.

Also, Kris Allen (the new American Idol) came into Yia-Yia's while Andrew was at work. People were going CRAZY. Just saying.

Some pretty good things that happened today:
Got a new shirt
Wrapped Andrew's birthday presents
Had 2 Sonic drinks
Helped hang more drywall

Busy Saturday!

We woke up early this morning and got right to work on hanging drywall at the rents'. And no joke, we worked pretty much nonstop until about 8p. We got quite a lot done. We are sore and tired but also feeling pretty accomplished right now.

Now we're just hanging out and relaxing. Andrew is spending the rest of his evening playing video games and I am painting my toenails and watching Gilmore Girls. And I am wishing I had some cake to snack on.

Order of the 4 Night

Today Andrew came home early from work and when he was feeling a little better, we had Larry's Pizza for dinner. Then Kat came over and we had an internet date with Kristin and Lauren since Kristin is in Seoul visiting Lauren.
Then the 4 of us (Kat, Gary, Andrew, & I) played Taboo and Kat and I won.
Also, we booked our hotel in Dublin this afternoon. Check it out:

We are out of energy

We are so tired today. I have felt like I am dragging this entire day. And then we went over to my parents' house after work to help with hanging drywall but my parents were both so tired too. So we just ate some dinner, played with the cats, had some ice cream, and went home. It is nice to take a break. I don't think any of us would be of much use anyway.

Village Idiot Day

Today was a funny day at work. My boss's car ran out of gas and we tried to push it back and then let it roll forward in neutral to get it started again -- that didn't work. So we went to the gas station next door and got a gallon of gas -- and neither of us could figure out how to open the gas can much less get it in the car. Finally some random guy showed up and helped us. It was hilarious. I'm pretty sure neither one of us stopped laughing the entire time.

The day only got more idiotic as it went on. I dropped half my food at dinner. And then -- oh, and then -- I knocked over my Route 44 Diet Coke and it fell to the floor and busted open. Before I even got to take a sip of it. Tragic, I know.

Then we helped put up more drywall and are finally home to shower and collapse into bed completely exhausted. Well, all except for Tillie -- she has more energy than both of us combined.

Finally a Tuesday that was fun!

My nephew arrived at our apartment this morning @ 6:45a to spend the morning with Andrew. I thought having to get up just those few minutes early would send my day spiraling off into the danger zone. But I was wrong. I actually ended up having one of the most pleasant Tuesday I can remember.
I got to work at a fairly decent hour and got to catch up with my boss which was nice. Then I had lunch with Kat at Zsa Zsa's and we walked over to Cupcakes on Kavenaugh and had some cupcakes after. It was fun and good to catch up with a good friend that I don't see nearly enough. Then I headed home to Andrew (who took a 4 hour nap this afternoon). We got dinner @ McAlister's with Kat and Gary. Then we went to the rents' and helped with drywall again. We are slowly making progress. And despite my dad being in a grumpy mood, it wasn't half bad. After that we met Kat and Gary at Barnes and Noble and hung out some more. It was fun and good to hang out with them again. I forget how much I miss them and they live literally 2 minutes down the road. I don't know why we don't see more of each other.
Now Andrew and I are home. He is snacking on chips and salsa and we are doing some cleaning because tomorrow is pesticide day here in 403.

Memorial Day!

So, Happy Memorial Day everyone.
Here are some of the highlights of our holiday:
I threw up and felt sick all day (good thing I was off work today)
Andrew worked -- big surprise
Tillie was attacked by my sister's fatty dog and now has a battle scar on her head
We had dinner with the rents and helped with the drywall again
Andrew had his late night hunger pains filled by Taco Bell and the new Fruitista Freeze.

A whole lot of nothing.

Not a whole lot to report on. Hung out around the apt. today relaxing and waiting for Andrew to get off work. It rained all day and it made my head hurt.
Today I was reminded of just how fantastic the Kiera Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice is. I wish I lived inside that movie.
Andrew came home and we ate and then played video games with Schuck.
I'm just glad I don't have to work tomorrow. PTL (Praise the Lord).

Patience and hard work

First of all, it was a full Saturday. I have to tell you I love a day full of honest hard work. We helped hang some more dry wall tonight and even got to tear up a bit of sub-flooring. Demolition is always fun, I think it is a guy thing though. I've never met a guy who doesn't like to tear things up. I am sad that I missed out on helping my brother Ben with this sort of thing in his new home in St. Louis but I know that it just wasn't possible for me to be up there. ( That just means you'll have to buy a new home to renovate when we move to STL Ben!)

Meghan really worked out her leg muscles at the gym the other day and today she is paying for it. She limps. It is kinda funny...especially if you aren't her (Muhahaha). I love going to the gym...and strangely enough I love that feeling the few days after where you are almost too sore to move.

On June 23 of 2007 Meghan and I were married and it was a very modest wedding. I loved it. Small and straight to the point. After two years of diligence Meghan and I have finally saved up for the trip we've always wanted to go on. For our two year anniversary Meghan and I will be flying to Europe this summer! We haven't exactly nailed down our itinerary but I do think that the bulk of THIS trip (oh yes, we plan on going to Europe as often as possible) will be spent in Ireland. My sister Sophia and my Brother-in-law Kevin are currently living in Ireland due to Kevin having a temporary job relocation. I'm extremely excited at the prospect of meeting up with them and having a fun time hanging out in what I have heard to be a beautiful country. We are scheduled to leave out on June the 17th and be back June the 28th (I think).

Oh yah, and My head is shaved...and I love it.

Haircut!

Got off of work early today and hung out with Mom. Returned library books and got some Sonic.
Andrew came home from work and we grabbed dinner @ McAlister's and ate it at my parents'. Then we helped them put up the ceiling in their new kitchen. Manual labor is nice sometimes.
When we got home tonight, I buzzed Andrew's head. He looks older, don't you think?
Andrew and Schuck are here playing Resident Evil now and I am taking a shower and going to bed. Tillie will be joining me.

I AM SO GLAD IT'S THE WEEKEND. And a long one at that.

P.S. Andrew scored us a free antique cabinet today and I am super excited about it.

Work It

We had a cookout a work today -- an awkward one at that -- and then nothing much happened the rest of the afternoon. Andrew and I had Chick-fil-a, I got my ring cleaned, and we got a few new clothes. Oh and the bag that I ordered (on Tuesday!) came in the mail today. Way to go Amazon, you are on top of your game and I appreciate that.

We worked out pretty hard today and I feel pretty good about myself. I kind of fell off the wagon this week when I got a cold but working my butt off in the gym kind of made up for that, I think.

For once, I'm looking forward to work tomorrow. We only have a half day because of the long weekend.

Arkansas Idol

We are trying to get Tillie to not be scared of the camera anymore. And in doing this, I think we may have gone a little too far. We've been sticking the camera in her face for so long that I think she sees it as a toy now. She tries to bite it whenever she sees it now. She chases it. It's not a habit that we want her to have but it does make for some pretty funny pictures.

So, Kris Allen is the new American Idol. I know his wife from church so it is pretty neat to get to see them go so far. Way to go. Way to put Arkansas on the map.

I was pretty jealous that he got to sing with Queen. It wasn't the same without Freddie Mercury, but still. That would make my life.

Mustaches!

So, we are currently obsessed with mustaches. Can you tell? You should check out our facebook album. It's incredible.

Today I ate @ Genghis Grill -- the new Mongolian grill in West LR. It was okay. I was proud of myself anyway for trying it.

We're watching the DWTS finale so I apologize for the lack of material in this post.

New shoes

"Hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right. I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling, it's so inviting."

Got 2 new pairs of shoes today on my lunch break. I'm always excited to get new shoes. They put me in a good mood.

Shawn Johnson rocked it out on DWTS tonight. I hope she wins. And I'm not going to lie, I wasn't crazy about Melissa's performance. Sad.

In exactly one month, we will be on vacation. I've been looking forward to this for months. I can't believe it's only a month away.

What a Sunday does best

We spent today in total relaxation. We wanted to rejuvenate from this weekend as well as prepare ourselves for the work week ahead. Here are the highlights:
slept in late
had lunch @ McAlisters
got a bracelet @ Forever 21
hung out at the mall with Schuck
enjoyed some Dippin' Dots (made me think of you, Krit)
rented some Wii and XBox games @ Hollywood
had Taco Bell for dinner
Skyped with Kat
lounged around in the bed all afternoon
ate some homemade chocolate chip cookies

We had fun anyway

We camped in the backyard last night. No one got much sleep. It rained around 3:00a and Tillie freaked out. My parents' air mattress got a hole in it and my dad hurt his back. We woke up early this morning, had a big breakfast, came home and took showers, and have been going ever since.
We checked out some antiques. We read up on some vacation hot spots @ Barnes and Noble. We met Schuck at the Greek Food Festival for some good eats. We finally came home and we able to squeeze in a quick nap before heading back over to my parents' to eat the kabobs we were originally supposed to eat on our camping trip. And we had some good wine and played Rumikube. Not a bad way to spend a rainy Saturday night.

Camping On/Off

My boss and I went to Samarai for Sushi Friday today. Now, I don't really care for sushi. In fact, I think it'd be safe to say that I don't like it at all. I don't eat cooked seafood, let alone raw. But today I tried my own little version of the California roll -- just cucumber and cream cheese rolled in rice -- no meat or fish eggs allowed. It was okay. I guess maybe I'm just not used to the way it tastes but I couldn't eat very much of it. And I'm probably not going to be suffering from sushi cravings any time soon, I was just proud of myself for trying it. Andrew was a little sad when he found out. He wanted to be there when I tried it. But Tammy says there are just some life experiences that I get to have with her. But I guess I will have to try it again with Andrew later.

My dad called off our camping trip this morning because of the heavy rainfall that's expected tomorrow. I was pretty bummed out about it all day until I had the brilliant idea on the way home from work to just relocate to my parents' backyard. So they are setting up the tents right now and in just a few minutes it will be party time. Now if it rains, we can just go inside. And we'll have access to their grill, a clean bathroom, and their cozy patio furniture. Plus, we can still make it to the Greek Food Festival tomorrow.

Oh and we just made friends with a little baby turtle that lives in our backyard.

I love packing for trips

Tonight was an evening of packing and preparing. I went with my mom to get food for our camping trip. And then Andrew and I cleaned, did laundry, and packed. We're almost all ready to go. And we're excited!

I did manage to fit in a 14 mile bike ride at the gym during all of the preparing. Nice, huh?

Andrew shaved his beard. He looks funny with no facial hair.

We're making it...

Is this week going by at a snail's pace anywhere else besides 403? Because it seems like it'll be forever before Friday gets here.

Tonight we finally tried Press 1 Pizza (thank for the recommendation, Rim, we really liked it). Then we picked up some new camping chairs for our trip this weekend. I personalized mine and Andrew was so jealous that he made me do his too. Aren't they fun? We also picked up some bug spray so we are almost all ready to go.

I came up with the best idea for getting the maximum number of outfits from just a few pieces of clothing. I plan on working on this little project over the next few weeks. It just might be incredibly useful, if not a little OCD.

Oh and Andrew and I made a deal that we are going to work out EVERY day until the middle of June. Every day. So, we went to the gym tonight and I felt better after eating all that pizza.

We heart doing nothing.

Today we:
priced new luggage
enjoyed a delicious surprise dinner prepared by Andrew
split a molten volcano cake @ Chilis
were pleased by the DWTS results
got Tillie some new Advantix in anticipation of our camping trip
drooled over the new Harry Potter trailer

I get by with a little help from my husband

Yesterday I woke up with an incredibly sore shoulder/back and have been living with limited mobility ever since. The heating pad I inherited from my mother (it's 30 years old, no joke) has been my best friend these past 2 days. I cannot do even the most simple things without pain. It's really frustrating. Luckily, Andrew being the attentive husband that he is, has been there to wait on me hand and foot and help me with all the tasks I cannot do. Tonight he made my lunch for tomorrow, cooked my dinner, and blowdried my hair. Isn't he just the sweetest?

Laura, one of my very good friends, was in a pretty horrific car accident this morning which makes my shoulder pain look like sissy stuff. She was taken to the hospital this morning but was allowed to leave bearing only a few scraps, bruises, and a little swelling. Her car, however, is donezo. I saw videos of it today and it really is amazing that she wasn't badly injured. It seems so crazy to me. I'm just glad she's okay. Which brings me to remind all of you to wear your seatbelt EVERY single time you are in the car!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. I hope your special day was as fun as the one had in my parents' house this evening. My sister and I prepared the dinner. Andrew was in charge of grilling. And he did a fabulous job. We had grilled chicken, salad, corn casserole, homemade bread, and german chocolate cake. And then we played Mexican train dominoes and my parents were CRACKING me up. They are so much fun.
And now Andrew is finishing up his last assignment of the semester. No more class until the fall! And he'll finally be starting those classes for his major that he is so excited about. I'm so proud.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Today I went with my mom in search of the perfect outdoor furniture for her front porch. The search finally ended this evening in Conway, but before that, we frustrated a few Target employees and had some wonderful Chick-fil-a. Later Tyler came over and played video games for an hour or two.

Then Andrew came home and we had American Pie Pizza for dinner, got some ingredients for our Mother's Day meal, got some Sonic drinks, and then just hung out at home. Andrew played computer games and I watched Notting Hill and Under the Tuscan Sun. And I also bought Andrew's birthday present. So even though we didn't really do anything too exciting, I feel like we got a lot done. Oh and Kat, I saw your mom at Kroger.

Order of the 4 Live!

Tonight was date night with Krit, Kat, and Rim. Rim was having technical difficulties and we didn't get to see much of her. But we did get to spend a long while chatting with Kristin. We even got to jam out to some old school Destiny's Child together. And don't worry, I have video. Rim, I'm sorry our fun was short lived, but we'll just have to try it again when you move into your new place and get internet and a microphone.

Andrew went with Hippo tonight to see the new Star Trek movie. And to quote him directly, it was "perfect".

I also made some homemade chocolate chip cookies from my mother's recipe tonight. They were delicious.

I'm so glad it's finally the weekend. Let the slacking off begin.

Thursdays with Tillie

I got home a little early this afternoon and we were able to enjoy the last little bit of the afternoon together on a walk. One of Tillie's favorite things is going on these adventures and it is so much fun to watch her explore every little thing.

Also, we've been addicted to sherbert lately. It is fantastic. I am enjoying the raspberry variety right now.

TV date night

Tonight we had a TV date night complete with good fun and plenty of laughs. We cooked some chicken penne pasta and then later went for blasts @ Sonic. The Snickers blast wasn't what I thought it would be. I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed.

Celia finally got kicked off ANTM -- something I have been waiting for all season.
Tonight was the Scrubs series finale -- something I have been dreading for a couple seasons now. It was good though. We laughed and we cried. I am pleased with the way it ended although it taught me that I am just not that good with things ending in general. I just don't handle it well.

Cinco de Mayo!

So, yea, today is Cinco de Mayo, but we kind of went another direction as you can see by the picture. And yes, those are wasabi coated peas. Weird.

Today's highlights:
Andrew is feeling under the weather
I returned a movie to the library
Andrew's thumb is finally healing from a nasty cut at work
I tried some very tasty fruit strip snacks only to discover there are no additives. None.

Monday, May 4, 2009

Sales Camp

We had sales camp today where we talked about things we can do to move forward and improve things. I think it was really helpful. It helps us all create a vision for the future. Plus we got to eat Chick-fil-a for lunch. Nice.
Andrew and I had pizza and salad from American Pie Pizza for dinner. The illusionist there on Monday nights told me I reminded him of someone he met in Colorado and he told weird jokes that made me uncomfortable.
Our plans for the rest of the night include:
working out
watching tv
taking Nyquil and going to bed early

Sunday, May 3, 2009

Laura left for Ft. Smith after a lunch of McAlister's clubs and sweet tea. Then Tillie and I hung out at home and laid low till Andrew got back from work. Tyler came over and played video games for a little while this evening. And we did load after load of laundry. It's a good thing I enjoy doing it.

Here are some things that are making us laugh today:
Thisiswhyyourefat.com -- where dreams become heart attacks
This SNL short of Andy Samberg will have you doubled over with laughter

Girls' Weekend Pt. 2

Laura and I spent the day doing super girly things. We got my Maitron of Honor dress, got our nails done, went shopping, and spent WAY too much money. But it was fun.

Schuck came and met us for margaritas @ Senior Tequila's. They were delicious.

Andrew worked and cut his finger ridiculously bad on a bread knife.

Friday, May 1, 2009

Girls' Weekend

Laura came down for Girls' Weekend. We ate Larry's pizza and hung out. We got some wine and are currently watching Bride Wars. Andrew and Schuck went to Toadsuck where they ate gator on a stick and watched Stuck on a Truck. Tillie ate grass.

Oh and Happy May Day!
