Waiting...

The interview went well, or atleast I think so. I have a good feeling about it but I'm trying not to get my hopes up by thinking about it too much. I will know something by next week, so until then, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and my mind occupied.

How amazing is this teapot? I wish he lived at our house.

We bought ourselves a copy of the Blind Side (one of my new favorite movies. Definitely see it if you haven't) and Settlers of Catan, which reminds me of you, Laura and Dan. Wish you were here to play it with us. We could form alliances and Dan could get angry just like old times.

Family ties

We got to spend some time with some very fun family members over the weekend and show them around Little Rock. It was a good time. We were sad to see them go.

And I have that interview with HP this afternoon. Wish me luck.

We also were presented with a very exciting and very possible opportunity. The more we think about it and talk about it, the more we want it. We'll see what happens with that. But for now its hush hush.

And check out this video of a whale exploding that I was introduced to this weekend.

The story of the new desk unveiled

Tuesday we woke up feeling pretty creative. So we decided to finally get to work on making use of the armoire sitting in the corner of our living room/kitchen.

So we went on down to Lowe's.

Picked up some wood.

Took a few measurements of this cabinet.

Made a few cuts.

Added a few nails and two coats of paint.

And made ourselves a desk.

Isn't it beautiful? It was something completely new for us. It may not have turned out exactly how we wanted it to, but we did it all by ourselves and we are proud.
What do you think? Fabulous isn't it? Don't pretend like you're not impressed.

Oh and Happy Birthday to my mom!

Chick-fil-a is my fave

Andrew & I just enjoyed our very favorite lunch.

Oh and he can receive photos on his phone now so send away!

Check out these purple potatoes that we ate for dinner. That's right, purple.

When the cat's away, the mice will play.

We hit up a different dog park this morning/afternoon. A lot bigger and a lot more dogs, but I don't think Tillie liked it was much as the park on the north side. She did get dirty though. And at one point, I'm pretty sure she was rubbing her body against a dead frog.

We made some veggie burgers for dinner and watched HGTV. I am loving that Sarah's House show. Especially this laundry room:

P.S. I completely forgot about this AT&T commerical that I used to love. Hilarious

Oh Friday, you are my best friend.

This is our new print hanging on the wall. Fun, isn't it?

I had my phone interview this morning. I felt it went great. And within two hours, I was informed that I had landed another face-to-face interview. I'm super excited. I want this job.

I love Spring. It's my favorite. But I hate that this is the time of year that those white trees blossom. Yes, they are beautiful. But they stink. Terribly.

Just dropped off my parents and nephew at the airport. They are headed to Seattle for the week to spend some time with my dad's family. They better take some pictures of the Space Needle. And they better bring me back a souvenir because I am (not so secretly) jealous that they are going. I want to go to Seattle.

Awesomeness

Here is our new comforter. Can you dig it or what?

Here is Tillie enjoying it this morning:

We also just got a new print for our wall and are going to get a frame for it right now so look for a picture of that soon.

I heard back from one of the jobs I applied for & I have a phone interview tomorrow!

And Andrew thinks opening up a popcorn taco store is a good idea. I don't think there's a market for it. What do you think?

* By popcorn taco, we're talking tacos full of (flavored) popcorn and toppings.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I stumbled upon this house while searching properties for sale in the area (one of my hobbies) and I am completely in love with it. It was built in 1924 and totally condemned now but can't you see how incredible it would be all fixed up? It is in a terrible part of town, but I have been reading about moving houses, and I think this would be an awesome project. Just buy the house and move it to another lot, maybe a historic district that is in better shape? I wish we had the money (and a job for that matter) to actually do this. We totally would. And everyone could come visit us in our super cute home. I don't think this house is going anywhere anytime soon so maybe (fingers crossed) this could be a reality one day. What do you think?

I applied for 9 jobs this morning, 8 of which were with HP. Let's hope the luck of the Irish is with me today.

Conan O'Brien has posted his tour dates. Anyone want to roadtrip with us to see him?

P.S. If we believed in Twitter (which we don't) we would totally follow Conan. Check it out here.

Getting my hair done is one of my favorite things

Went to see Kat today and she did my hair up real nice. Looks good. I'm happy.

Got some groceries. I am really into eating as many antioxidants as humanly possible right now. I love them.

Andrew didn't have class today! So he spent the day studying, playing video games, and napping.

I have been really into the 13 ounces or less series that this blog is doing. It looks like so much fun that I am thinking about participating. So look for something magical coming to a mailbox near you.

Spring Cleaning, here we come

We have a little table/island in our makeshift kitchen here in limbo land. Usually we use it for eating, drinking tea, reading the newspaper, etc. But today I took it over as my craft/organization station. I started by going through that big bin underneath to pull out all the things that I have been meaning to add to my scrapbook. Then I organized my scrapbook pages so I can finally finish filling it up. And then I worked on organizing Laura's wedding scrapbook. Btw, Laura, I need you to email me pictures so I can get started on that.
Then I condensed, organized, and filed important papers and got rid of the stuff we no longer needed. And then I added all my pictures to snapfish.com and ordered some albums to be printed and mailed to us. And then I bought my mom's birthday present.
We went to Barnes & Noble this afternoon. I got a few things to start my new family history project. We went to Target and I finally got to see the new Liberty of London line that I have been waiting for. And I was disappointed. It was a let down. I walked away empty handed.
Andrew and I went to Wal-Mart this evening and got some groceries and a few frames to hang some prints. And we ran into your mom, Kristin and Lauren. She misses you guys. Give her a call.
Andrew has had this Spongebob song stuck in his head all day. Weirdo.

Loving life, loving you

Still digging the new jeans. Don't ever want to take them off.

I am starting some major Spring cleaning tomorrow. And I don't think I've ever been more ready.

Check out these hilarious "Sassy Gay Friend" videos from Second City. Andrew and I have been laughing about these for days. Make sure you watch both the Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet videos. They are great.

Its that time of year again -- Daylight Savings Time is over. So don't forget to move your clocks ahead one hour tonight.

P.S. I am lusting over this Jane Marvel bag:

YouTube Love

That ridiculous video we discovered yesterday made me really start digging through YouTube for some other funny/awesome things:

Today, this Lily Allen video is making us laugh.

Did anyone else love this My Little Pony movie when they were little?

This video from a recently discovered band is fun. The thug dance off scene is particularly awesome.

We are patiently awaiting the May release of this game. Anyone else?

Too much free time on my hands

This My Little Pony musical is fantastic. Fantastically creepy. I'm completely serious.

Got a new tote today made of this awesome fabric. I love getting a new bag. I love thinking about all the things I can carry around in it.

straight leg jeans = awesome

Andrew got home from school early this morning so we ran some errands. We enjoyed some Chick-fil-a for lunch. I got some new jeans from GAP. They are awesome. They are the "real straight" jean in a medium wash. They are a great alternative to skinny jeans. So if you haven't been able to get on board with the whole skinny jean thing, try these. The leg isn't as skinny. I like it. Plus, the medium wash is on sale from $70 to $35. Go check them out. Or take a look here.
Andrew got some new headphones for his iPhone. His headphones have been falling out while running, so we went to Best Buy and picked up some Nike Flow sport headphones. He took them running this afternoon and came home declaring that they were terrible. Apparently, they started giving him problems immediately. Needless to say, we will be taking them back. So just a heads up, don't buy these headphones.
Also: loving the new series, Parenhood, on NCB. But then again, I love anything with Lauren Graham.

The most wonderful time of the year

Forget Christmas, this is the most wonderful time of the year. I absolutely love Spring. It is, without a doubt, my favorite season. And I am so glad its finally here.

We opened a new bank account with the Arkansas Federal Credit Union. I think we will be happier with our banking from now on. So, suck it Bank of America! You are a terrible banking institution!

We also picked up this new Wii remote charger from Energizer. It is fabulous. If you've been looking for one, I suggest this one:

I've been organizing my phone and decided to share my favorite free apps:
Bump -- the easiest way to share photos, contacts, etc.
Shazam -- find the name of any song you hear
Phoneflicks -- manage Netflix on the go
The Weather Channel -- more detailed weather report than the standard weather app
BlogPress -- blog from anywhere
Mancala -- I can play against the computer since Andrew refuses to play with me
Yelp -- find closest restaurants, parks, etc with reviews from other people
iHeartRadio -- listen to radio stations from all over the country
IMDB -- I use this at least 20 times a day to answer questions, prove people wrong, etc.

I think it might be springtime soon

The weather was fantastic today. We celebrated by grabbing some Sonic (Tillie had a plain hamburger patty and water) and hitting up the dog park. Tyler came along. Tillie made friends with another beagle mix there and together, they took a trip across the street and down the hill to the Arkansas River where they proceeded to play in the water. At one point, Tillie actually laid down in the water. I didn't argue because she was covered in mud from the park, but it just cracked me up. This isn't the prissy dog we adopted over a year ago. This is something completely different.

And I am teaching myself how to create a new blog banner in Photoshop. So be looking for that soon.

Made Manicoti from scratch for dinner.

Learned that the Sims is coming out with a new expansion pack in June and it is going to be incredible.

And we are watching that new NBC show "Who do you think you are?" It is amazingly interesting and awesome. You should watch it Fridays @ 7p.

I am an awesome wife

Not to mention, I am an awesome shopper. Today I scored Andrew this $200 Columbia ski jacket for $60.

And we found $4 in the Kroger parking lot.

Team Coco

I am boycotting Jay Leno for returning to the Tonight Show and for doing what he did to Conan by not watching him ever again. So even though Shawn White will be on his show tonight and I'd really like to watch him because I am going through Olympics withdraw, I will refrain. So eat it, Jay Leno! I hope your ratings suffer severely.

On a walk with Tillie & Andrew

And apparently Tillie loves the water now.

Tonight's agenda: Andrew's studying & I'm crafternooning with Kat.
