I Love:

Can we talk about skin care for just a second? Because just like my obsession with the dermatologist, I have a deep love for skincare products. I can't help it. I'm always looking for new, natural, and cruelty-free products. Here are my faves:

(read more after the jump)

Day:

  1. Bioderma Crealine H2O Micelle Solution ($27) -- French makeup remover. So light and gentle, it's practically like water. But it removes even the toughest waterproof makeup. In short, it's magic.
  2. Say Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Towelettes ($3) -- I keep these in my gym bag and use one every day before a run. They clean your face, remove makeup, and come in a convenient pack. And they smell fantastic!
  3. Juice Beauty Cleansing Milk ($22) -- Really mild, natural cleanser. I can't say enough good things about this company (see here). This is my go-to, every day cleanser but I also really like their exfoliating cleanser.
  4. Murad Clarifying Toner ($22) -- Mild toner that won't dry out my skin and helps reduce and eliminate breakouts.
  5. Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum ($45) -- I use this morning and night under my moisturizer. It helps fight against free radicals and other environmental toxins. And it's full of vitamins and plant oils to help keep my skin moisturized and healthy.
  6. Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 ($32) -- I love argan oil and the Josie Maran line is really great. Cruelty-free, natural products that actually work. This moisturizer does it's job, protects my skin from the sun, and smells amazing too.
  7. Alive! Adult Multi-Vitamin Gummy ($9) -- The only gelatin-free gummy vitamin I could find. Tastes great, and helps fill in where my diet might lack.
  8. Supergoop! Everyday Face and Body Lotion with Parasol 1789 Plus ($48) -- I use this awesome sunscreen as my every day lotion so I know my skin will be nourished and protected all day long. One of the big pump bottles lasts forever too!
Night:
  1. Bioderma Crealine H20 Micelle Solution (see above) -- If I haven't taken my makeup off already by this point in the day (I usually take it off as soon as I get home because I hate wearing makeup), this gets the job done quickly and easily.
  2. Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser ($22) -- I get the occasional breakout (despite my love affair with the dermatologist) but this cleanser helps me keep things under control
  3. Murad Clarifying Toner (see above) -- This toner gets rid of every last trace of dirt and makeup that my cleanser may have missed. It doesn't strip my skin of moisture or leave it feeling tight.
  4. Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum (see above) -- Again, I use this under my moisturizer to protect my skin and help undo the damage done to skin cells while I sleep.
  5. Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer ($45) -- I figure I'm never too young to start using anti-aging products or taking precautions to keep my skin looking young (and my dermatologist agrees) so I use this moisturizer at night to firm my skin. I really think it has helped reduce some dark spots/sun damage and brighten the area around my eyes.
  6. Biotin ($7) -- I pop a Biotin every night to help improve the look and texture of my hair, skin, and nails.
  7. Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil ($35) -- This really rich body butter helps keep my skin seriously moisturized. I apply it all over after a shower, while my skin is still damp, and it just soaks right in. I tend to have pretty dry skin, especially in the winter, but not with this. And seriously, the vanilla apricot smell is amazing!
Once a week, I like to do a mask. I do a combo of two different products that seems to prove highly effective (at least for me). I use the Juice Beauty Green Apple Blemish Clearing Peel on my chin (since that's where I seem to breakout most) and the Murad Age-Diffusing Firming Mask everywhere else. I leave it on for about 10 minutes and I feel like it does a really good job of getting rid of the buildup (makeup, sweat, environmental toxins, etc.) that ends up on my skin by the end of the week. It's my Saturday night indulgence. Well, that and some chocolate chip cookies. I've been using the Murad mask for a while now but I'd really like to try the Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask combined with the Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Mask, but I haven't really looked into their companies' stance on animal testing yet. And 88 big ones for a face mask seems a little steep to me.

I've also got a hair product routine to show you (although I'm not much of a hair product person, I must warn you) and a makeup show and tell in the works. So, be on the lookout for those.
